About

GREGOR HOFBAUER

Austrian photographer Gregor Hofbauer looks for odd moments in his surroundings which inspire his audience to look at his pictures at least twice. These oddities reveal to him themselves, or are created by a delicate intervention or a deliberate focus on specific events in front of his camera.

With his work he always asks the following question:

Did anybody notice this?

CON-FUSION

(2020, ongoing)

The picture series "Con-Fusion" is a delicate approach to balance out the fusion of our surroundings and the human body. The contact between elements is essential and these elements, although strange, have a right to be there. Nothing is complete, but everything becomes a unit.

UPSIDE DOWN

(2018)

Frozen moments of miniature humans entangled in moving machinery, seemingly defying gravity.

ICH, SEE, NUR NEBEL

(2018)

Fog is magical. But also an uncontrollable force of nature. Soft, but scary. One moment it’s there, and it can be gone in a second. The way it transforms your surroundings is mesmerizing. It is nature’s temporary intervention in familiar surroundings that changes ones perception completely.

Fog is magical, but also an uncontrollable force of nature. Soft, but scary. One moment it’s there, and it can be gone in a second. The way it transforms your surroundings is mesmerizing. It is nature’s temporary intervention in familiar surroundings that changes ones perception completely.
